There's a new pet shop in Sunway Pyramid. Well, it's not that new, it's been there for perhaps a month or so. Everytime when I deemed I didn't have much assignments, after college, I would go to Sunway to drop the hamsters displayed in front of the pet shop a visit. Just 2 weeks ago, right after college was over and term break started, I went to the pet shop and went home with a pair of Winter White russian hamsters.
This breed of hamsters is not exactly my favourite, my favourite has always been Syrian hamsters (because they reminded me of my childhood, which pretty much revolved around...hamsters), but they're definitely better than Roborovskis, titchy minuscule, hyperactive breed of hamsters that bite alot.
They're both males, well, according to the pet shop assistant, but if I ever catch them humping each other, they (the assistants, that is, not the hamster) will have alot to answer to.One hamster is of warm grey colour, calmer of the two, likes to hoard food and spends most of the day sleeping.
The other is of a dark brown colour, extremely hyperactive and "kan cheong", panics easily. The darker one dominates the running wheel most of the time, the grey one gets his exercise scaling the top of the hamster cage ala spiderman.

The reason why they're called "Winter White" is due to the fact that their coat will turn white during winter, well, at least in the wild. If I'm not wrong, domesticated ones won't turn white. That's just too bad, I'm very tempted to put my hamster in the freezer to test it out (my sister and I once put our hamster in the fridge for a minute or so when we were kids).
