Dear Mr Prime Minister Education Minister ah, sod it-Whoever-who-is-in-charge,
According to a survey, the average Malaysian reads only about 2 books a year not including magazines and the newspaper, which brings to the conclusion that the average Malaysian hates reading. Well, then how do you explain this??:
Granted, it could very well be just the average Malaysian's sense of Kiasuism showing up wherever and whenever there's cheap goods for sale, but it could very well mean that perhaps an average Malaysian reads more than just two ruddy books in a year. It's probably the price that's holding us back. If the government was to subsidize the price of books instead of wasting their money sending people to outer space or paying for overpriced screwdrivers, I'm pretty sure the "2 books a year" census will increase.
In case you didn't know, Penguin Books is having a warehouse sale till the 21st of November, with over 200, 000 books sold as cheap as RM 4.
People say don't judge a book by it's cover, but it's a lil easier said then done, especially when one is confronted with a book with a cover like this:
I'm strongly reminded of Transformers when I see this. Very retro! So you know, the pinks is of foil material, so it's all nice and shiny
Latest haul:
I bought alotta books, but I have a feeling I might regret buying at least 2 of them. What to do, when one's in a hurry, one tends to buy compulsively.
